Firstly, the central theme of the Kardashians is family. Their strong familial bond is key to the success of the Kardashian sisters, as they rally around each other, marshalled by their 'momager' - Kris. This kinship of support within the family is often highlighted at awards or fashion shows, where they come out in force in support of their fellow Kardashian. Kylie Jenner’s recent release of her makeup line is prime example for this as many of her liquid lipsticks are named after her other family members. In particular, Mary Jo K, a dedication to her grandmother which is reported to be a deep red in parallel with her grandmother’s passion for life even through the hardships she faces with illness.
The Kardashians. A clan of narcissistic entrepreneurs who rely on our consumerist ideals in order to fund their lavish lifestyles. So, with this glaring truth, why are we so invested? They have us intoxicated. We are glued to our screens, devouring the twelfth season that has been launched in the autumn.

Body image and self confidence are often greatly troubled subjects when it comes to young adults. The Kardashian sisters have become a symbol for body positivity that has revolutionised social media, perhaps one may say Kim Kardashian 'breaking the internet' with her nude selfies have taken this too much to the extreme. Yet the fact that she has the confidence to do so and accept that there will be negative feedback, speaks volumes to young adults that it is ok to love yourself and your body for who you are. Perhaps not taking it to the same extremes as the business mogul but a self love that is being promoted is, i believe, the key to this.
Individually, the Kardashians have taken huge strides within the entertainment business as their identities constantly change to stay ahead of the 'curve'. A prime example of this is Kim Kardashian's infamous contouring. She coined the makeup term after releasing her technique to the masses on social media, then later denounced contouring in favour of strobing-another technique for highlighting the face. Similarly, Khloé Kardashian, my personal favourite, is infamous for her television presenting on the American X factor. Although most would agree this is not a highlight of her entrepreneurial career, it did mean that she branched out and tried a new thing which is highly commendable.
Finally, the man, the myth, the legend that is Scott Disick. His quick witted quips commenting on the general hilarity consistent in the daily life of a Kardashian keep viewers in stitches as they digest the exaggerated experiences in the Kardashian households. The introduction of Scott Disick was a master stroke as a series regular, as his reputation for expensive tastes precedes him. Now split from socialite Kourtney Kardashian, Scott has taken on the role of doting father of three. Here he is a highly televised role model for prospective parents, leading to a practical reason why you should keep up with the Kardashians.
So overall, I believe that it is really important to have an escape from the hectic daily life we live in. And so my suggestion to you is to delve into this escapist reality television and immerse yourself in the ludicrousness as a general benefactor for your sanity. After all, who wouldn't want to live as a Kardashian for a day.
